When a hospital system has been part of a community for more than seventy years, it’s more than a place you go when something goes wrong. It’s a neighbor, an employer, and a partner in nearly everything that makes a region healthy. On this episode of Talk of the Town, the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce podcast, we sit down with Millie Swan of Forrest Health to talk about what that role looks like from the inside.
Millie has spent much of her career at Forrest Health, and her work has reached well beyond a single department. She has led marketing and communications, overseen service lines, and helped shape how the system connects with the people it serves across South Mississippi. She has also been recognized nationally for her leadership in women’s health and has given her time to community boards and organizations around Hattiesburg. That mix of hospital leadership and local involvement makes her a good person to ask how healthcare and the business community can work better together.
